NAKED 3 Palette Review

Today I'm going to review Urban Decay's NAKED 3 palette. It's one of the most talked about eyeshadow palettes in the world, as well as one of the most desired. I will explain every detail such as price, quality, colors.. and also show you some swatches. I want to provide you with every info you would want to know before actually spending money on it. I know that most of you are not makeup artists who need thousands of makeup products, so you need to know if it is really worth the money or not.

The NAKED 3 palette is the third release from the NAKED collection by Urban Decay. Following the success of the two previous palettes, NAKED and NAKED 2, the third launched in 2013. You can buy it at urbandecay.com, at SEPHORA or every Urban Decay's retailers and it retails at 54 $/52,90 EUR.
You might think it's quite expensive, but believe me it's 100% worth it. You get an amazing, high-quality product, in little words you get what you pay for.

When you buy the product you get the palette plus a double-ending brush and a bundle of eyeshadow primer potion samples. The samples are 0.35 ml/0.01 fl oz each and they are available in four different formulas: the original, sin, eden and anti-aging. I always use one of these primers before the eyeshadows because it improves the color, the lasting time and it reduces the meltdown.

The palette contains 12 different shades of rose-toned nudes. In fact while the two previous palettes were more on the nude, neutral side, this new palette switched to more pinky and rose shades. The 12 shades are completely new and you have a serie of finishes like matte shadows, metallics, satins.

The formula is very creamy, easy to blend and work with. It doesn't have fallout which is the thing I hate the most. I would say there are only two shades more powdery and they are "Dust" and "Liar". These two eyeshadows are difficult to blend, you have to work them really well in order to have a great color. However I would consider them only two exception out of an amazing product. Every eyeshadow has 1.3 g/0.05 oz.

The brush you get with the palette is a double-ending brush, it is synthetic and it has a shadow brush on one side and a blending brush on the other side. As for beginners it's good, but I would not use it alone. I typically use other brushes to create my looks.

Speaking of the colors, the range is entirely based on rose-toned neutrals from lighter to darker shades. Here you have the list of colors:
  • Strange which is a pale neutral pink matte. This is great as a base too.
  • Dust, pale metallic/shimmering pink with glitters
  • Burnout, light pinky-peach satin
  • Limit, light dusty rose matte (it's one of my favs)
  • Buzz, metallic rose shimmer with glitters
  • Trick, light metallic pinky-copper shimmer (another of my favorites)
  • Nooner, medium pinky-brown matte
  • Liar, medium metallic mauve shimmer
  • Factory, pinky-brown satin
  • Mugshot, metallic taupe shimmer
  • Darkside, deep taupe-mauve satin
  • Blackheart, smoky black matte with rosy glitters
Here you can see the swatches, with and without flash:

The matte shades are only three, there are more metallic
and shimmering shades. However you can create a lot of different looks, both for daytime and night-time

All in all I highly recommend this palette especially for people who love rose, mauve and pinky colors. If you're not into these kind of shades, then this is definitely not for you.
It's a great everyday palette.

Let me know if you like this product or if you would like to buy it, I hope this could be helpful. With that being said, I will see you soon,

      xo, Sofia
